About This Blog

ABOUT THE TITLE:

When I was younger I was an extremely picky eater. At one point I decided that bread, butter, and pickles were the only foods I liked. Although I'll eat just about anything now, I still love and routinely crave these three foods!

ABOUT THE CONTENT:

My husband and I have (somewhat opposite) eating restrictions/preferences, and we make an effort to keep our eating habits healthy and balanced.

Keeping with the theme that inspired the title of the blog, my posts are (usually) great for people who follow special diets, are picky eaters, have food allergies, keep kosher, avoid certain foods for health reasons, or are just generally trying to eat healthily.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

When I was a student, I had quite a few jobs in food including as a caterer, personal cook, bread baker, cookie decorator, and culinary school teaching assistant, so I share the tips I learned from each job in this blog as well as what I've learned from being a home-cook. I am typically the opposite of a hoarder and (to my husband's dismay) I've gotten rid of almost everything we own, but my one weakness is cook books. I have lots of them so I try new recipes often, and especially like recipes that use new ingredients or techniques.

ABOUT AMAZON.COM LINKS:

When we got married in 2009, we received a lot of really cool kitchen tools as gifts. I've realized that he types of tools and appliances a cook uses can drastically change the outcome of a dish, so I include links to the tools I use in order to help you decide what to use or to adjust if you have something different. If I link to something, it usually means I particularly like the one I have.
